Aims and Objectives:

Aim: To encourage children and young people aged 6 - 13 years to reclaim community spaces for outdoor fun.
Objectives: Through the medium of outdoor play:
- Enable children and young people to access community spaces.
- Encourage more positive use of those spaces.
- To enable children and young people to socialise in a safe outdoor enviorment.
- Through staffed outdoor play provisions which enables children and young people in engage in constructive past time activities.

Programme Outline:

The Reclaiming Playspace Project is delivered in three communities in North Belfast and one community in Bangor.
Each community receives two outdoor play sessions per week, two early sessions which takes place from 4.30pm - 6pm and one late session delivered from 6.30pm - 8pm.
All sessions are free of charge and open to all children and young people aged 6 - 13 years.
Experienced play rangers travel into community spaces in a small van and deliver open access outdoor play sessions.
