| Aims and Objectives: | Divert young people from crime / antisocial behaviour and encouraging a more positive outlook by gaining qualifications in sport. Focus on community relations by integrating young people from different social, cultural, political, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Promote liaison, trust and confidence between young people and police. Build self esteem and promote more positive futures. Promote teamwork and give individuals a sense of achievement. |
| Programme Outline: | This is a three hour coaching / football skills session delivered by a "Grassroots" football development office from the IFA. The referrals come from Youth Justice Agency and Police and is anticipated, can also be received form other voluntary and statutory agencies. The course is based on teamwork and encouragment is given to progress to a level 1 coaching certificate. The course is ran and attended by youth justice agency, police, local football and community representitives. |
