Due to new targets set by DHSSPS to improve training and employment outcomes of
Looked After Children (LAC) in Northern Ireland Include Youth is now recruiting for
an exciting new post to pioneer and deliver an employability scheme for young people
in and leaving care in the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

 

EMPLOYABILITY WORKER (Ref: EWW09)

The main purpose of this unique post is two fold:

 

  • The Employability Worker will work closely with LAC and 16+ Pathway Teamsto develop a culture and infrastructure within the WHSCT to better prepare young
    people in and leaving care for the world of employment, training or education.
  • The Employability Worker will enhance the employability of care leavers by securing
    and supporting a range of work experience and employment opportunities across
    the public, private, voluntary and community sectors in the Western Trust region
    but with particular focus on creating opportunities within the Western Trust itself.
    Along with relevant previous experience and other essential criteria the person
    appointed will also hold a recognised, appropriate 3rd level qualification in Human
    Resources, Careers Guidance, Business, Education/Training, Youth Work or Social Work. A full driving licence and access to a car are essential requirements of the post.

Starting salary: £24,402 Hours per week: 35 Based: Derry
Duration: 2 years initially, this post is dependent on continued funding thereafter
